Webinar on integrated wildfire risk management strategy (IWRM) for Europe

In the FirEUrisk Project, we are committed to developing a “Conceptual framework for integrating risk assessment, reduction and adaptation”, to be tested and applied at local, regional, national and/or EU levels.
We understand that there is not a unique solution to this problem. Many countries and regions around the world have successfully implemented different structures of Wildfire Risk Management (WRM). In FirEUrisk, we understand that effective wildfire risk management depends on a solid foundation of scientific knowledge and good practices, as well as well-organised fire management agencies that adhere to sound principles and are supported by established legislation and governance. To address and manage the risk of wildfires, we are developing science-based knowledge that will enable us to assess and mitigate risks in current and future conditions. Our goal is to transform this knowledge into practical guidelines and principles that can be applied across the EU regions, countries, and Europe as a whole.
In this Webinar we intend to present our proposal for an integrated wildfire risk management system and to have a feedback on it mainly from the members of the FirEurisk Observatory but also from other stakeholders interested on the subject.
